Exactly what the doctor ordered (mechanic)

My warning light stayed on constantly indicating a problem with the fuel system. One of the local parts stores offered an aftermarket product but the warning light would not go out. During a recent pre-ride inspection of my Santa Fe, my mechanic recommended a genuine Hyundai product. He turned out to be right. I bought the original gas cap and now the light went off and stayed on.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Discontinued

Was concerned when I first fitted this to my mother's car because it only 'clicked' once and didn't appear to be sealed. ****NOTE**** This is a NEW/REPLACEMENT for the model number that came with the vehicle. It "clicks" only once, SO. It definitely works as advertised and definitely solved the engine light problem. From the looks of it, this new model vacuums with just one click. I would recommend this to anyone who has the 'mysterious' Hyundai engine light on for no particular reason.

Original Hyundai - Genesis gas cap part no. 31010-3L600

Save yourself a trip to the dealer. This is a new replacement fuel cap for many Hyundai and Genesis vehicles. This is the original OEM part number 31010-3L600 (see packaging photos). The lid fits perfectly and is assembled in less than 5 minutes. A picture of my old cap and my new cap is part of this review, the new cap is on the left and the old cap is on the right. It wasn't difficult to remove the tape from the cover, it came out immediately when I used needle nose pliers. Just put it under…

13 Elantra GLS Perfect fit ex works.

Perfect fit. Identical to the original and packaged by Hyundai. Don't be afraid the sticker mentions Veloster and not Elantra. They used them in many of their models. The old cable wasn't easy to remove without worrying about damaging the door it's attached to, so you'll need a SMALL tool that looks like needle nose pliers. The new one appears like a dream. Would buy again if needed considering it's about $11 less than a local Hyundai dealer. (Unfortunately. I would like the money to come from…

Buy this cap and not a cheap alternative!

We have a 2007 Hyundai Entourage and a few years ago we replaced the original gas cap with a non-original gas cap. After a while we started checking the engine air leak trouble codes and tried various solutions including buying a different non-OEM gas cap which still didn't solve the problem. I then took it to my favorite mechanic and after he ran some tests he said I needed to replace the real gas cap, which I did. I bought this cap which arrived quickly and fixed the air leak bugs straight…

It's cheaper than the dealer and fits like a glove

I recently bought this for my 2007 Hyundai Elantra SE because the engine warning light came on and the code indicated a problem with the fuel and exhaust systems. Knowing that I care about my car and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars; I took a chance looking at Revain for a replacement gas cap as I still had the original and suspected it would be a cheap solution. Old fuel cap gaskets can cause the check engine light to illuminate on most vehicles after 2000. It's cheaper than at the…

Fixed My Check Engine Indicator

I have a 2005 Kia Spectra5. I had my mechanic inspect the car to find out why the CEG light was on. He said it could be the catalyst. $$$ but he advised me to try and get the original gas cap from the manufacturer first. The? Is this item after sale? Why yes, yes it is. This car was shared with 3 other drivers in the family so it makes sense that one of them forgot their gas cap at a gas station somewhere along the way. -_- I did a little research to get the correct part number. I found the…

UPDATED 2020 - Caps

Update January 2020: I updated this 2 star review to a 4 star review a while back. It turned out that the fuel pump in my tank had stalled! After a $600 replacement, this cover works perfectly. I've had no issues with the gas cap light flickering and the cap always clicks when closed. Keep in mind that sometimes this is a more expensive solution. Previous Review: Bought this cover to replace the cover on a 2012 Hyundai Accent after the old one stopped clicking and the 'Check Engine' light came…

this worked on my 2016 hyundai tucson

since the day i bought my tucson about five years ago i have had this annoying check engine light every few months telling me my gas cap was loose. Then I went to the dealership, turned off the light and drove on. until a few months ago. The check engine light became permanent and didn't come on again until a few days after clearing the code. That's why I chose this fuel cap because it is said to be an original Hyundai part. Problem solved. No more problems with the engine gauge. I suspect my…
