Review on πŸ”’ Hyundai 31010-3L600 Fuel Filler Cap Assembly - Enhanced for SEO by Jeff Hall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

this worked on my 2016 hyundai tucson

since the day i bought my tucson about five years ago i have had this annoying check engine light every few months telling me my gas cap was loose. Then I went to the dealership, turned off the light and drove on. until a few months ago. The check engine light became permanent and didn't come on again until a few days after clearing the code. That's why I chose this fuel cap because it is said to be an original Hyundai part. Problem solved. No more problems with the engine gauge. I suspect my original gas cap was somewhat defective or had a small dent on the o-ring from day one that got worse over time. Other thoughts: 1) The product took a very long time to be delivered. USPS was used and it was early December. So the problem wasn't with the seller. In fact, the seller replied to the letter by email. 2) It took a few minutes to remove the old gas cap. The rubber cable seems to have stiffened over the years and maybe swollen a bit. It took some effort, I used a screwdriver and pliers to remove it. It only took a second to insert a new one. Under no circumstances should you try to remove the old gas cap by hand. You'll need at least a pair of pliers and a firm, steady hand. Bottom line: If your Hyundai is flashing your check engine light due to a small smoke leak, I recommend purchasing this fuel cap as a potentially easy and inexpensive solution.
