How do you know how good an oil filter is? Well, K&N definitely has a quality name and quality build quality on the outside, as well as a good explanation of how they are superior to the regular ones on their website. I think it's just comforting to have an old Audi that I love than an extra $5 or $10 for a quality filter for me.
