I know some reviewers have had trouble connecting bare wires to this unit, it works just like any of the new sockets on the market. First loosen the screws, then insert the appropriate wire into the hole above the screw, then tighten the screw, just like all other novelty sockets on the market. The cables install very quickly and easily, and there is no way to remove or pull out the cable unless you loosen the screw first. I also noticed that the USB ports on this outlet are more expensive than the more expensive outlets, so I see no reason not to buy this outlet unless there's a style or color match issue. Also, when you try to plug in the device for the first or second time, it's a little tiring due to the tamper-proof socket, but after the first few uses, it becomes normal.
