Review on 3M Speedglas 9100 with Extended Coverage and Crown (06-0500-51) by Scott Spoja

I've been using this 'crown' on my 9100XX canopy for over a year now and yes the clips are flimsy but the crown itself doesn't add weight to the canopy so it's a compromise . Will they survive? yes they will I'm not a seller either. I'm a unionized boilerman constantly crawling into the tightest and tightest spots in the dark, filthy bowels of coal-fired power plants, oil refineries, nuclear bombs, paper mills, etc. My hood is subjected to the most horrific tests. , from roasting to tight tube welding to arc gouging. There is no one who can check their equipment harder. So if it can stay for me, it can stay for everyone. unless good. There will always be someone who can destroy their gear (or yours) with very little effort. It's a rare talent, but it exists. I had one side and then the other sliding off the hood, but the clips are flexible and I just reattached that side to the hood. I haven't broken the clip yet. It helps keep some (not all) of the glare and reflections off other welders, helps the fire roll off your head, and I really like that it keeps fly ash and other debris from getting on me when it's hit . top free. I took it off a few times to clean the hood and it still works for me. Considering how much money this hood made me, it's worth it. I had great interest in it from other welders. Nobody thought it was a trick, including me.
