3 year update: We have used about 12 out of 25 bulbs in two salt lanterns in 3 years. off is an incandescent replacement. As mentioned below, after screwing it back in (turn it off), wipe the bulb with alcohol, a tissue if you have one, or a cotton swab quickly dampened with alcohol. Very satisfied. Place so far without problems. The 4 pack in Brick and Mortar costs 3.99, worth the risk to try. Previous locally bought C7s lasted 9-10 months, we use them 24/7. We use them in stone lanterns that require heat from a lightbulb to be effective. with an alcohol swab before switching on, they last MUCH longer, probably for the same reason as halogen bulbs. We will provide an update in the future. Update: still use the same two bulbs installed when purchased, durable and great value. treat again.
