I bought this because the was not installed correctly on my new motorhome. There's a little rod that pushes the inside latch when the outside button is pushed, and it was badly mangled by the guys at the RV factory. It was a good and accurate replacement, but I quickly realized why the first one was installed poorly - it's quite difficult to cut this rod to the desired length. The trick is to make it long enough to make it work - too long and the latch won't work properly, too short and the latch will stay closed when the door is "bolted" on the RV's outside door. I started on the long side - you only have one handle - and had to disassemble the latch about 4 times to cut it off little by little. And every time you put it together it's a juggling exercise trying to get everything in the right position - the spring is the most fun.
