Review on Sony PS-LX250H Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (No Longer Manufactured) by Justin Malkowski

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A good player for casual listeners.

First of all, this is the same player as the Audio Technica AT-PL50, so if you want to save some money you should buy it. The good thing is you can use the ANT3600L stylus in a Sony turntable just in case you need to replace it and of course this is a plain turntable so it has a fixed cartridge and no weight or anti -Skating attitude. Otherwise, it's a good player for casual listeners. I'm not giving it 5 stars because this turntable has a tendency to skip if the record isn't in perfect condition. I have an old Garrard record player that records used records better than this one. Everything is fine with the sound of this player. It's not incredible, but it's normal to listen to and even acceptable for transferring CDs from LP to CD. The player's best features are that it is fully automatic and has a built-in amplifier, so you can connect it directly to any amplifier or computer sound card. All in all, this is a budget turntable that gives you enough performance for the money you pay. If you want something better, you should look elsewhere outside of the $100 range.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Negative impression
