First of all, this is the same player as the Audio Technica AT-PL50, so if you want to save some money you should buy it. The good thing is you can use the ANT3600L stylus in a Sony turntable just in case you need to replace it and of course this is a plain turntable so it has a fixed cartridge and no weight or anti -Skating attitude. This player was easy to set up and has worked great for 2 years. Now when I turn it on, the tonearm rises from rest, moves toward the platter, lowers, then immediately rises and returns to rest, then rises and repeats the same action over and over again until it finally decides: Play record or turn off.
