Review on Sony PS-LX250H Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable (No Longer Manufactured) by Melvin Belton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for money

About three years ago I discovered how easy it was to burn vinyl records onto CDs using a computer. I found an old Sony PS-LX150H at a thrift store and my $3 investment lasted just over two years. Impressed enough with the old model's performance to find a new model, I recently bought a Sony PS-LX250H. This player is ideal for capturing recordings on a computer. I've never heard vinyl records played on high-end turntables that cost $250 or more, but I feel that the sound quality reproduced by this unit is outside of its price range. I like the fact that this model has an autoplay feature to start listening to recordings. You can also use it as a direct guide if you like. The worst thing I can say about this model is that the Igloo was a little more difficult to install than any other turntable I've used, but it's also newer than any other turntable I've ever used, and it was not that difficult. There is a function to set the size of the recording you want to listen to, 12 inches or 7 inches. This model's settings are in centimeters, so users unfamiliar with the metric system (like me) may need to refer to the instruction manual for that model. Overall I think this is a great player as I really don't know what else to expect from this device in its price range. I can also add that it is very easy to set up and use right out of the box. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a turntable that can't spend more than $400 on one unit.
