BIG issue with Bluetooth. Sometimes it takes 8-10 connection attempts. I have to repeatedly turn on, turn on and turn off the iPad. Pray, cross your fingers etc. The device shows as connected but there is no "handshake" i.e. no sound. Conversely, I have an Oontz Curve Bluetooth speaker that connects every time. As far as performance goes, this is complete nonsense. I can get modest sound levels from my bedside speakers, but there's a lot of distortion past the middle. When you plug it in, this Pyle makes hard pops and pops from time to time. sleep tunes and spend 30 minutes making it work. FYI, if this thing doesn't make a little 5-note tune followed by a few claps, know that you're not connected. I finally got it working today after about 20 minutes of trying. In contrast, my Oontz devices and UNIFY key pair worked fine.
