Review on ⚡️ Marine Grade GTO15 High Voltage Cable by Ancor Electrical by Erik Gerber

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well for Lichtenberg burn-in, straightening trick.

Advertised as 14 gauge stranded wire with double thick insulation rated at 15,000 volts. Mentioned specifically in Lichtenberg's fairly popular wood stove building tutorial, I ordered it. To smooth it out, I wrapped it in the opposite direction for a few seconds, then pinned it straight and heated the insulation with a hair dryer, heating about a foot at a time, quickly moving the hair dryer back and forth. This has reduced the curl that wraps around the small spindle, but it remains stiff. A viable alternative is coiled spark plug wire, but note the difference between resistive wire and non-resistive wire with a stranded copper core. Avoid resistance wire.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
