Review on πŸ’‘ 5V Regulator - DROK 5pcs Mini Voltage Reducer DC 4.5-24V 12V 24V Step Down to 5V Buck Converter Board 3A Power Supply Module by Terrence Castillo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great idea. Terrible implementation

Cutting that tiny mark on the back of the PCB was horrible. It's too small even for a razor and a magnifying glass. Why, why did they do it like this? It would be easier to solder adjustable pads. This stupid design ruins a great idea. In fact, I messed up two of them simply by cutting the track. When they work, they're pretty good. I always put 100uF in and 47uF and 0.1uF out. If you do this you will have enough pure power to run small tasks like arduinos etc. Whatever you do, make sure you measure the output voltage before connecting this thing to your project. It's too easy to plug in 12V and get 12V out when you really need 5V. If Drok reverse engineer this and cut a track then they have a really good little product and I would give it 5 stars.

Pros
  • Integrated adjustable and fixed voltage output, you can get a fixed output voltage by soldering a potentiometer to the board. If the fixed output voltage is not what you want, you can adjust it with a potentiometer.
Cons
  • Hard to say
