As the owner of a dog that melts in the heat and needs exercise this coat is perfect. I bought this specifically to keep my dog cool while we play frisbee. It hugs his body very well so his movements aren't too restrictive like a cooler wading jacket would be, and although he's still out of breath he stays cool enough to thrive in over 80°C twenty minutes to play. One day when we got home I put some ice in front of him and he cooled down very quickly. I bought a medium size for my 45lb herding dog and found the size perfect. My only complaint is the flash. The Jabber tends to stand perfectly still when buckled up and is still difficult to align and fully close. I think getting this on a wavy dog is very frustrating. I also think the zipper will be first in terms of durability, at this point I'll probably change it to use velcro or buttons. I do NOT think it will stay cool for hours without rewetting. I'm not worried because that's not what I bought it for, but if long-term cooling is the goal, a bog coat would probably be a better choice.
