I bought two of these to solve a rust problem on my Volvo 240. The original split flange rusted after 27 years, making my car sound like a four-door bike. With my reluctance to remove any additional exhaust system components, these flanges did a great job of reattaching the downpipe to the catalytic converter. Time will tell how well they hold up to rust, but I was able to fix the leak without bending the brackets by over-tightening them. I would recommend them to others with a similar problem, make sure you buy the right size exhaust pipe and you can be back on the road in under ten minutes without waking up your neighbors.
