I actually ordered this item twice. The original pen broke about 18 months ago and I ordered this item to fix it. Installation was a bit tricky at first until I figured out the trick - there is a piece of plastic attached to each of the levers that clamps the bars and effectively controls the latches. Remove one of these from the handle and attach it to the stem first. Then put it back into the hole after attaching the other to the stem. It was easier than trying to put your hand through the little hole in the door. Anyway, it took about 18 months before it broke. The main mechanism is attached to the plastic with a rod welded to the handle body. This rod broke and the handle could not operate the levers. I could try super glue or epoxy but for $10 I just bought a new one. I'll probably buy one as a spare in anticipation of this one breaking.
