I wish I could give it 5 stars but as it broke less than 6 months after installing the previous one I can only give it 4 stars. This is one of the best I've bought since I've had my truck, but I just wish it was more durable. Maybe metal? All in all I would still recommend it to a friend.

This handle fits perfectly on my 3rd door on my 2001 S-10. I compared it to the normal one and couldn't tell any difference. I think this is the third time I've had to replace a grip and I usually buy an OEM part for around $60, but after two of these have failed in the last 8 years I've decided to do it with this one to try. We need to start making these metal handles. I have changed this grip 4 times due to the combination of cheap plastic and metal. This isn't rocket science; If a strong force is applied to this grip, the tension will be absorbed by the entire grip and look for a weak point. The cheap plastic lever breaks if you press too hard. Fourth replacement for my S10 in 15 years. This unit seems to be of good quality, better than OEM. And for $9, there's definitely nothing to complain about. However, a warning when installing. I actually ordered this item twice. The original pen broke about 18 months ago and I ordered this item to fix it. Installation was a bit tricky at first until I figured out the trick - there is a piece of plastic attached to each of the levers that clamps the bars and effectively controls the latches. Review: Yes, the actual moving handle of this door knob is metal, but the strut or "frame" is plastic.
