Very useful DVD drive

As a fan of classic games, an optical drive should not be missing. After a recent upgrade to my computer case, I lost the ability to use the case's DVD-ROM drive and was limping without one. No longer. This DVD drive comes in a nicely designed box with quite a bit of broken English on the back. The box contains the drive itself, three short cables, and a tiny and very rare sheet of paper that bills itself as the manual. Of the cables, one is a USB 3.0 Micro-B to USB-A cable, the second is a DC to USB-A cable, and the third is a USB 3.0 Micro-B to USB C cable. It consists of one printed page and mainly consists of warnings and basic disc information. This was a problem as there are no instructions on how to use the cables that come with it. It took me a while to figure out which cable to use for what. In my case, I used a Micro-B to USB-A cable without having to use either of the other two. I would suggest that a cable with a DC connector can be used in situations where you can't get enough power from the device to make it work, for example when connected to a tablet or phone (assuming it also works in such a situation). ) . Case). For devices with a USB-C connection, the USB-C cable is used, which certainly cuts a fine figure as a drive in the silver-black housing. It has a comfortable fit and is fitted with rubber feet at the base to keep it from sliding on the table. Overall it seems well built for a compact DVD drive. It works fine too. It is 100% plug and play with Windows 10, so no drivers are required. I installed a few games with it and then watched DVDs on it with no problems. I haven't tried burning a DVD because I don't have the media to do it, but since it works fine otherwise, I'm sure it would work fine if I needed it. Verdict: Despite the broken English on the box and the lack of instructions on which cables to use when it comes to a working DVD-ROM drive. Can it withstand heavy use? I can't say that, but after using it for a week or two I can say that it does its job effectively.
