Works well with Mac Pro (2019) and MacBook Pro (Mid 2018) without additional drivers.

Tested on Mac Pro (2019) with OS 10.15.2. The drive is a thin metal device with a non-motorized tray that opens with a push of a button on the front. The device is powered from the USB port and communicates separately with either a USB-C connection or a computer USB connection. All three cables included. The cables are a bit short and not particularly high quality. I had to use an Exacto blade to snip off the odd piece of plastic protruding over the USB-C port before the cable was properly…

Very useful DVD drive

As a fan of classic games, an optical drive should not be missing. After a recent upgrade to my computer case, I lost the ability to use the case's DVD-ROM drive and was limping without one. No longer. This DVD drive comes in a nicely designed box with quite a bit of broken English on the back. The box contains the drive itself, three short cables, and a tiny and very rare sheet of paper that bills itself as the manual. Writes, reads, and writes to DVDs and CDs with ease

I've used it on my workstation where I don't have an optical drive; I had to install some software that came on a CD and that did the job. Also, I used it today to burn DVDs and install other software. Basically it's a nice drive to keep on your desk when you need an optical drive. I can confirm that both reading and writing DVDs and reading CDs work. I haven't tried burning a CD yet, but if it burns a DVD it should be able to burn CDs with no problems. DID NOT WORK - Optical drives

I used this disc once and everything was fine. I took it away until I needed it again today and it didn't work at all. Refused to communicate with my computer. Complete waste of my money.
