Good enough! on Key Shells

As mentioned in previous reviews, the metal key is attached to the plastic case and cannot be removed. I was able to take out my original Honda key fob and put it in this bag, saving me money on programming. I had to find a locksmith who could laser cut this new metal key. Ace charged $45 but my local locksmith charged me $25. The Honda dealer charged me $250 for a new Honda key. I ended up saving $215. I noticed 3 flaws with this new key: (1) The remote controls are inserted deeper compared to the original Honda key - see attached image, (2) The sides of the plastic case cannot be locked tightly unlike the original Honda key - see attached picture, (3) there is a "bump" on one side of the bottom of the plastic which bothers me but luckily it doesn't bother my husband and as it's his key we saved it and cut.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I have no real complaints about it, everything is fine
