I like my new monitor stand but when I unpacked it I noticed 3 scratches on the inside. I probably won't reach out and cut myself, but they're a disappointment for a novelty (I'll never understand how things like that get off the conveyor and into the box and get dirty. When they fall off the conveyor, don't they?) In any case, after looking at and trying a few, they were too big (don't need more than 4 inches, 3 inches is better), too expensive (yes, you can spend $60 and get real mid-century modern furniture, but you will I don't now and my table is dark gray so I didn't want a natural wood tone); or look too cheap and blocky or clunky. This splits the $30 price difference nicely. and it's the right height for me, not adjustable but I've confirmed it's right for my needs and I don't plan on reassigning it like some do by converting them to shelf dividers etc. Another note is that while the brand name is stenciled, it is at least thin and not too light and only on one side. Some of these brands seem to feel that having their randomly generated name prominently placed on a product or implying "quality" is desirable. Note: it is not. At least I can undo that. 1 star deduction for weird scratches. I sanded two of them. doesn't do the optics any good, but takes away the sharp corners.
