Review on πŸ”§ Remanufactured Domestic Steering - Cardone 20-0038F by Michael Sharp

Revainrating 3 out of 5

ATTENTION! There are multiple versions of this product under the same part number. SEE PICTURE

I did not purchase my power steering filters from Revain but I am posting my review here. There are TWO versions of this product, both with Cardone product number "20-0038F". Your results will depend on which one you choose. My first purchase of this product resulted in me getting an earlier version that leaked after 20,000 miles. This earlier version connects the two halves of the aluminum case together with an external steel wire clamp. Over time, this clip wore away the soft aluminum "ring" of the inner case and caused a leak between the two halves. I bought a replacement and despite having the same part number, this one has an updated design. . The updated version uses a different body that uses a small internal retaining ring to hold the two pieces together. As a result, the inner jacket stays in place even under pressure. However, the retaining ring is very small and very difficult to remove, making regular filter maintenance extremely difficult. This new version has a much better chance of staying sealed, but you can choose to replace it rather than attempt to open it for cleaning when the time is right. Execution. I don't know which version they will send you. Here is a comparison picture.
