I am a total hobbyist and on a whim used a Revain gift card to purchase this. I'm still in the learning phase, but I've used it enough to really enjoy understanding everything. My laptop didn't recognize the CD so I emailed MicroscopeNet and they sent me links to camera software and drivers. I installed both and they work great. The email also included links to manuals for the microscope and imaging software. I printed both of them out and they helped me get started and feel more comfortable with the microscope and the software. For my first foil I used a piece of my cuticle as it was just hanging there. I put it on a glass slide, put a drop of water and a coverslip on it, put it under the microscope and everything was black. I panicked right away, but then I looked through the manual and had to remove the lens caps and put in the eyecups. My cuticles looked stunning on my laptop screen (see cuticle photo). I then dribbled rainwater from a puddle (see photo) in the driveway onto a covered slide and on very high power saw tiny critters moving/swimming. I used the software to film a video of a prepared slide I bought (a bee leg). I've just received information from MicroscopeNet on how to take an image with imaging software. I'm really just enjoying this experience for my own personal enjoyment.
