Make sure you know you're buying

I'm not giving this one star because it's a lousy product. In fact I find the LEGO products to be of excellent quality, fantastic design and have given me many hours of enjoyment. I didn't even take the set out of the box. So what is he complaining about? Unfortunately, you will not be able to assemble the desired model using the instructions included with the kit. This set is one of the LEGO 2in1 models. I specifically wanted this kit to create a hot rod version. Unfortunately, LEGO only provides instructions for the Corvette ZR1 variant. If you want to build a hot rod you'll need to get instructions from their website. It's much easier to create from printed pages than trying to create from a smartphone or tablet. I suppose you can always download them and print them out in hard copy. But considering the file size (85 pages) and the fact that they are very detailed and full color, the ink and printer wear will cost more than I paid for the kit. I don't know if I'll keep it for myself or give it to my granddaughter who loves collecting these sets. BTW when I contacted LEGO they said they couldn't provide a printed copy. How do you advertise and sell a product with different options and then haphazardly give no instructions on what to entice the customer to buy.

Pros
  • a handy item
Cons
  • some trouble
