I bought this extension phone for CS6948-3 because the manual says even though this phone says it doesn't fit this model. Well it is! And since I set it up, it works just as well as other phones. However, I had to call Vtech customer service to find out how to set it up. I got through to them very quickly and found that all you have to do is press and hold the find phone button. (I think you should. That was two months ago!) It's been working great ever since. (By the way, the CS6948-3 base is a good phone for those who need large dial pads, and it also has a built-in answering machine. Great for the elderly!)
