This flat iron was perfect for me because I have thick hair and have tried many flat irons that are not hot enough to curl my hair. I've also tried straighteners which get too hot and burn my hair. It was the perfect balance with the ability to set the temperature. I now understand that using professional quality tools is one of the keys to success. The build quality looks great.
