I have some small foil bags, but no big ones. I love these bags and find them very useful, especially when I want to store spices. I add star anise, bay leaf, whole cloves and something like pepper. The best thing about these bags is that they really don't let any smell through. I can place peppercorns next to fragrant cloves without one absorbing the "flavor" of the other. It's like putting something in the fridge only to later realize it picked up some of the smell or taste of something else. I can store a variety of foods and spices in it, put them in a storage basket, and it doesn't matter. I don't need separate containers for fruit, flour, rice or spices. Very handy, but I wouldn't want to do that with just any ziplock bags. There is a wide range of bags here and it didn't take me long to pack them. I put bay leaves in a small bag, dried apricots in a medium one, and dried strawberries in a large one. They are all very spacious and the large ones hold a lot more than I thought. I buy bulk items like dehydrated strawberries and storing them in a #10 jar doesn't guarantee freshness after I open them. Once closed, they stay fresh in these foil bags. Not sure how long, but I've had the spices in a few since the summer months and they're as fresh as the day I sealed them. I can reuse them by putting the same item in the bag.
