Honestly. For the price, I was expecting light junk from the "Industrial Heartland of America". I was positively surprised. The lamp is made of durable steel with a beautiful finish. The dimmer switch is smooth with a slightly "weighted" feel, the adjustment and range of motion is fantastic. And most amazingly, the instructions are CLEAR and well written (as a tech writer this came as the biggest shock. Imagine that! Clear instructions!) The only downside I give this product is the packaging. The product is packed in a standard styrofoam box. You know what it is: takes up a huge amount of garbage and landfill space, shatters into millions of small static pieces if broken, etc. I'd happily pay a few bucks more for eco-friendly packaging.
