I bought a Somfy Clever DIY blind motor kit and installed it this weekend. I am very happy with the completed renovation of my study. Pros: This kit is a fantastic upgrade to upgrade any ordinary manually adjustable horizontal blinds system - perfect for skylights or any room. reach windows (they are next on my list). The first installation took about an hour and fifteen minutes. Everything went so smoothly that time and budget permitting I will most likely install them throughout the house. Problems: No real flaws. My only comment is that you should understand or become familiar with how your window covering bracket attaches to the wall and how the rod system works. Once this is done, the installation will be pretty easy. Make sure your existing blinds meet product requirements. If you have any other type of window covering, this product will not work for you. Final Review: The finished product is exactly what I was hoping for, so I've ordered a second Clever DIY blind motorization kit, which will arrive this week. Now that I understand the mechanics of my window covering and how the installation works, I suspect the installation time will be no more than 30-45 minutes.
