Review on Samsung T5 Portable SSD MU PA500B by Jeff Olson

I really like this portable speed demon. It is very well made and fits perfectly in a jacket or laptop bag. However, the bundled software should not be installed on the Mac. This was causing all sorts of issues and kept disconnecting the Samsung SSD from my 2017 MacBook Pro. I ended up having to copy all the files back to my Mac, uninstall the software and drivers, and reformat the Samsung SSD as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). If you accidentally installed software on your Mac, back up all your files and follow the instructions. The instructions below are listed in the Samsung T5 SSD manual but hard to find. You can also refer to the screenshot I've attached to this review where Samsung explains how to uninstall it from Windows and Mac. The software needs to be removed manually by running CleanupPSSD_Mac.sh in the SW installation path. (Typically /Library/Application Support/PortableSSD/CleanupPSSD_Mac.sh) *Third party cleaners like AppCleaner may not completely remove Samsung Portable SSD software.
