12 " Slip-Joint Oil Filter Pliers with Vinyl Coated Non-Slip Handles

I do oil changes and most auto work myself. This is a decent tool for grabbing an oil filter to loosen. I have to say that the teeth on these 12 inch slip on pliers are sharp and could pierce an oil filter. It would be bad for the installation if I caused a tiny leak and didn't notice it until my engine ran out of oil! NOT GOOD! TIP: Oil filters should be hand tightened no more than 1/4 to 1/2 turn with a filter wrench if my grip isn't strong enough. Always ensure the old oil filter gasket is removed, clean the mounting surface and oil the new filter gasket before threading on and hand tightening. I ALWAYS double check for leaks after starting the car before closing the bottom oil filter access cover. ALWAYS stay SAFE and use the right stand! NOT just a jack or scissor jack or ramp drive to support the vehicle. Crash death happens all too often. Easily adjustable in size, these pliers are made from high quality forged steel with a 3-position splined connection. These pliers are good value for money. I can also use them for other purposes like some large pipe nuts like a shower drain if I'm careful not to apply too much pressure. I love the non-slip vinyl handles. With careful use - I even recommend taping off the sharp teeth - they will get the job done. You pierce the oil filter canister as explained. I hope you found the information and my review helpful.
