I have a 1998 Ford F150. I had to buy it because my old door lock had a crack. The door mechanism clips that hold the bars in place broke and I pulled really hard in my lap thinking I was just not pulling enough but it broke. After removing the two nuts holding it in place, all you have to do is pull on the metal bracket, which will release the locking mechanism. Installation is carried out in reverse order and takes about 30 seconds. Now my door and the lock on the back door are like new.
