I installed this on a battery box (also purchased from Revain) for use when camping and to power or charge various devices with a second deep cycle AGM battery so I don't kill my car's main battery. I didn't use the included backing pad, just drilled and plugged in holes for the USB plugs, outlet/voltage monitor, and switch. (Each is held in place by bolt-on backing plates, so you don't need a front mounting plate.) It came with cables routed and attached, which was handy for seeing how everything was connected. Since the cables have to be disconnected to install the plugs and switches, I took a photo of the installation first. A word of warning: the hinges are very strong and were difficult to remove. Finally it works very well. This is a quality product at a reasonable price. highlighted.
