Removed the broken screen, left the home button on and carefully installed the new glass. One corner won't stick, but that's not a problem since I'm going to put it in the case anyway. After about 1-2 days, the new home button no longer works at all, never works again. Activated home button on screen in Accessibility. After a few days, the touchscreen randomly stopped accepting inputs. Lock screen / turn off and turn on again, touch works again. after a few minutes the process is repeated. This is a constant problem, the touchscreen often turns off. Almost unusable iPad. Do not buy this repair kit.
