Review on ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Hofun Professional Air Quality Monitoring Device by David Skyline

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Mid-range solution with some limitations

This is quite an interesting device, but I think it's important to understand that it gives you measurements of the difference between calibration and post-calibration air samples. If the outdoor air quality is not perfect during the calibration, the measurements obtained later may not be as accurate as you would like. It still has value and appears to be fairly accurate. Just understand that it's not really a lab quality device or anything, but the price is fantastic for what it is. Build quality is very low, but the display looks decent. The switch is loose and every time this unit charges it is on which is strange and makes me wonder if mine is broken. So if the power switch is off, it will turn on when charging. Not exactly what I was hoping for. The durability of case materials etc. is most likely not up to scratch, but with careful handling everything should be fine. On portable instruments, especially those with color displays and gauges, I like to see rubber cases, knobs, and thick plastic. Generally this seems to work, but again you base the air quality on the air quality of your calibration. Sample. As a bird keeper, air quality is very important to me as exotic birds can be very sensitive to smoke and other particulates, solvents etc well below what we humans would consider significant. For example, if you live in a forest fire area, you cannot reliably determine smoke levels in a room if you calibrate it away from the smoke source. Relatively accurate at low cost. Not sure if mine has a defect that won't turn off while charging, but I think it deserves four stars due to the low price.
