The ball head arrived today so all these comments are based on first impressions: 1) The product looks solid and has a good fit and finish. 2) The 3/8" base thread is too large. The base of the tripod head is flat and tightens very tightly 3) Pan rotation tightens as tension is applied to the ball Still rotates but not smoothly 4) Ease of use and adjustment are very easy mm on D800 Slight vibration is noticeable.Update: I use this tripod weekly for projects.Panning is sticky and jerky in cold weather but that's a minor issue.It's waterproof enough to withstand overnight rain.I have this one Tripod head used with any of my heavy cameras and lenses.
