Addi is my favorite disk. They cannot be beaten in a tight circle. In terms of interchangeability, they are neck and neck with Chiaogoo. What you prefer really depends on what is important to you. I have both sets by the way. That's how they compare, IMO. Needle Points: Addi points are blunt and smooth. Actually the smoothest I've ever used. Absolutely my favourite. This is a very personal decision. If you prefer sharp needles, Chiaogoos is for you. They are conical and pointed. There is no wrong option here; that's totally subjective. However, as knitters know, knitting with needles whose tips don't work for you can be a knitting killer. Cords: Both are good. The Addis comes with a flexible cord that doesn't look like the cheap plastic cord often seen on circular needles. Mine are gold but I understand the blue ones are exactly the same. The color indicates the country of manufacture I think. For reference, I've repaired Addis with both blue and gold wires and never noticed any difference between the two. The interchangeable Chiaogoo metal headphones have a durable yet flexible red cable with a plastic metal braid. These are my favorite cords. You never curl up when working on a small project, which Addis can do at times. For reference, the Chiaogoo Wooden Interchange Set (which I also have) comes with a clear plastic strap that looks very different from the red one. Luckily, wooden pins with red cords can be used, which you can also buy separately. For some reason, red cords are also known as "twist". Addis inserts the cable, then twists to lock. This works but requires a very small protrusion where the metal of the needle enters the metal of the end of the cord. This is very light and won't damage most of the yarn, but it can be annoying. The Chiaogoo connection twists the needle into the end of the cord, creating a smoother connection between the two pieces. In short, when the tip matters most, choose the one you need. If you are interested in joining, you will choose Chiaogoo.
