Review on 📹 Peteme Video Baby Monitor: HD Camera & Audio, Motion Detection, Night Vision, 2-Way Audio - Monitor Baby/Elder/Pet by Raye Johnson

After using this camera and two others for more than a year, my blood pressure rose, an ulcer appeared. Can I FULLY blame this product? Maybe not. But at least 80% of my frustration stems from my constant attempts to get them to just keep doing what they once did. Constant updates result in an ever-changing set of different performance issues. But the last one is probably the worst. Like most of you, I rely just as much, if not more, on the ability to HEAR my 97-year-old mother when she is asleep. But the latest update (about a month ago) causes the sound option to work for less than 5 minutes and then turn off. This means that you should ALWAYS be checking your phone to know if your child or elderly loved one needs attention. Other updates have changed the way you record. Eventually, a motion-activated feature appeared. Wow! What a great idea! Too bad it doesn't work anymore. Then at the bottom of the monitor (phone) screen there was a "filmstrip” that could be played. THEN I was able to use a micro SIM card (not included) to record. THEN the only option was to use the cloud, which is a subscription-only service. BUT WAIT! Now I can shoot anytime, take 180 degree panoramic photos and everything just saves to the app! BUT what I can't do is HEAR my mom's room so I know when she's out of breath or just wants to go potty! mmm pretty important feature. Why am I still using these stupid cameras? Because I hope that the next update will fix this problem. But INSTEAD, it only got worse. Now they reboot every 5-10 minutes and there is no connection at all at that point. This has nothing to do with my internet. The router is less than 20 feet from me and during that time my streaming service runs smoothly. If I could buy a camera system made in the USA, I would do it in a jiffy, whatever the cost. If you haven't noticed, most babycams, babysitters, and security cameras basically look the same. And they are all made and CONTROLLED by software developers in China. And guess what? They don't care if your product works or not. Absolutely ZERO customer support. But since I'm fed up and friends have had better experiences with the SWANN version of the same (smart) camera, I've ordered two of these. Look for my review when I've used it for a while.
