Lightweight clamps work best

Only suitable for lightweight wires that deform easily. but in the pictures they look good, i wouldn't buy them again if they were provided to me for free, sorry its true

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I will add later

Good sturdy spring clips

I have no idea what the little screw on top is for. Doesn't appear to be wired. I just crimped them and put a plastic cap on them. Worked great! Can't beat the price. More alligator clips than I use in my life :-)

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
  • Frequency

Difficult to connect power and hand tools

They have a screw on the TOP to secure the wire BUT THE ONLY way to get the wire to the screw is through a VERY small hole. it must be threaded from the inside. Good alligator clips have a hole for the wire to slide through and attach to the screw.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • So so

Works great except the wire hole needs to be adjusted (offset) to get the wire to the screw and the plastic slides a bit easily I think. I ended up using a crimp on the wire instead of a screw and then put the plastic grips back on. It works great and the price is right.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Has been damaged

Worst quality and workmanship you can find

Very thin sheet metal which the rivet pin can barely go through causing one side to come loose. The mounting screws were inserted at an angle and over-tightened, rendering them unusable if you can remove them. I have never seen cheaper quality materials combined with poor workmanship in one product. Spend a little more for something useful from another provider to save yourself a lot of trouble.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

The screws were removed on arrival.

I bought them mainly to temporarily integrate small control devices into circuits. I planned to run the wire through one side of the clamp and screw it to the screw. But the metal is so thin, the screws have already snapped off and don't twist. I gave it 2 stars because apart from the flaky screw it works as expected. The clip holds tight, the plastic insulation seems solid. It may be possible to crimp the wire for a stronger hold.

Pros
  • Robust workmanship
Cons
  • High price

Fair value for money just don't expect much from it

These were the first alligator clips I bought but I have a few other types to work with that I can compare them to. I like this design more than the ones with a very short leg and no cap on one side (although they are stronger). As long as your expectations are reasonable, everything is fine. The spring inside is weak, I felt some of them lost their bite power after a few uses, but some seem stronger than others. The hinge pin is also vulnerable, so the jaw alignment can be skewed fairly…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...

Cons
  • Big and chunky

Good for my needs. on Clips

The hole for the wire is about 4mm, I don't know why people say it's so small. I have one complaint that the cap is made of a harder plastic. So when I crimp the wire the cap may break or not stay in place. Since I need it for a tiny, tiny wire from an adhesive pad like TENS, I just roll up part of the pad and stick it in there. I did it with a smaller clip and it works great. Yes I always abuse things which drives the hardware store guys crazy! "You want to do WHAT with him?"

Pros
  • Includes: 10 red alligator clips and 10 black alligator clips, 20 total; Strong and durable clips used on many occasions
Cons
  • Wrinkled

Fair value for money, just don't expect many of these

That's it first crocodile skin clips I bought but I have a few other types to compare. I like this design more than the ones with a very short leg and no cap on one side (although they are stronger). As long as your expectations are reasonable, everything is fine. The spring inside is weak, I felt some of them lost their bite power after a few uses, but some seem stronger than others. The hinge pin is also vulnerable, so the jaw alignment can be skewed fairly easily. But then again, it's 20…

Pros
  • EASY TO OPEN: These heavy duty clips are easy to open and the spring loaded jaws close firmly, the strong jaws never fall out once clamped
Cons
  • No Instructions
