This Rampage bonnet stay holds my bonnet very securely, if a bit tight. I've never had any issues with the hood wobbling at any speed or any sign that the OEM hood latches may not be holding the hood. I bought this product so I don't have to worry about someone stealing my battery. To be honest, for a $38,000 car like my Rubicon Unlimited, having a locking mechanism for the hood, gas cap (I also bought a barricade to cover the gas cap!) and possibly/eventually the door hinges is absolutely ridiculous lock, having to retrofit. 2014! This product requires a little adjustment to cover both sides of the hood evenly. Yes, it's pretty tight, but the hood seems to keep you from moving. When I pull the lever down to lock the hood clips, I have to slow down so the clip doesn't hit the metal/paint. After correct locking and installation, there is no contact with the vehicle surface. Generally it does what it advertises. I gave four stars in case there were future problems due to the very tight fit, but then again a product only deserves five stars if there is absolutely nothing unusual about the product AND the installation went smoothly.
