Review on πŸ“‘ Metra 44-US07R: Versatile Top or Side Mount Rubber Antenna for Superior Reception by Ronny Goodman

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good replacement antenna. BUT has some critical bugs that can complicate your installation

Fixed bug that caused my radio to have no AM and only patchy FM. Although, Metra, if you want to make a custom smaller screw, include at least two of different lengths. The included screw barely goes through the rubber base. I understand that the antenna cable is screwed into the base of the mount and should be sticking out of the car. But with my Chevy HHR, I had to go to Tacoma Screw (Washington Base Co., which I recommend for specialty screws, hardware, and customer service) to specially grind a questionable design screw. attached, specially designed to allow the antenna parts to come together. Any other round screw with the correct number and thread will not fit without modification.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some little things
