After ordering 3 different crimping tools, this was the first one that actually worked properly with my Cat 5e RJ-45 connectors. It is smaller than other tools so it fits in your hand more easily. It also makes it easy to fit into a small tool box. It only works with RJ-45 jacks (not RJ-11), but that's usually the only thing a hobbyist or home networking enthusiast would need anyway. I like the fact that it has a tool locking mechanism when closed. This is very important to save space in a small tool box. The only thing I don't like about this tool is the lack of a ratchet when closing. Other tools I've tried would close the ratchet while crimping to ensure the crimp was truly complete (just keep pushing until the clicking stops). This tool isn't a ratchet at all, so all you have to do is squeeze it as hard as you can and hope that's enough. So far it has been like this. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive home network patch cord assembly tool, this is it.
