I am new to lock picking and thanks to a young nephew who insists on using tools without permission or supervision I needed a longer shackle padlock to secure some of the tools. Why mention I'm new to lockpicking? I don't have much experience, but even I can pick this lock in a minute or less. Opening the lock is not difficult at all. While the lock definitely seems solid and can withstand the knocks of cutting and grinding (drilling wouldn't be too hard I guess), I wouldn't use it to protect very valuable items, at least not alone. . For one of my toolboxes that sits inside with this lock to keep my nephew out although it works great. So if used correctly, this lock will do its job perfectly. Again, if you need to secure particularly valuable items, be sure to use other security measures in addition to this lock.
