Perfection in Jeep Renegade

I have a 21 year old Jeep Renegade and was totally mentally prepared that it wasn't going to work and was pleasantly surprised. When I took it out of the box, it seemed to me that nothing. I plugged it in, the UI appeared on the screen and I connected it like any other Bluetooth device. Now it automatically connects CarPlay to my phone when I get in the car. Even if I turn off the device and turn it back on later, it remembers my phone and reconnects automatically. Since it occupies the USB socket I use to charge my phone, it also has its own USB socket so I can still plug in and charge my phone. When I plug my phone into it for charging, Bluetooth playback stops and continues playing in normal wired mode. There's no noticeable lag in the response of the steering wheel buttons or the touchscreen. The only downside I've noticed so far is that it can take over 30 seconds to connect when you start the car. Which is really not a problem for me for the sake of convenience. The device itself feels so small and light that I wonder why this technology isn't built into my factory head unit yet.
