Once you've gotten used to the rear-view mirror, you hardly ever drive without it. It doesn't replace the over-the-shoulder look, but it does add a level of awareness and security that I appreciate. It also allows me to secretly check out other riders so I don't drop them on climbs ;-) I've used this, mirrycle and a mirror on take-a-look goggles. If aerodynamics, speed and style are not important to you then I would take the Mirrycle and put it on my city/gravel bike. Mirrycle is bigger, protrudes less and just gives you a better view. However, I have this on my road bike / speed bike and I am very happy with it. Sometimes when I get out of the saddle it will pinch and need adjusting, but I've found it's usually still BASIC in a good position to see the road behind me. It's very easy to set up and shows the road better than the Mirrycle from a variety of driving positions, but it's quite bulbous so it can be harder to see vehicles in the distance, especially when their headlights are off. The mirror in my glasses was a big problem for me - I just couldn't adjust this thing so that I could see without having to move my head a lot. It's also very close to the eye, which I find dangerous in an accident, and it's amazing how often it reflects the sun straight into my left eye, requiring my head to be in an awkward position to avoid it. be blinded. Hope that helps. Stay safe there!
