I use it for threading brass and aluminum. That works great! Although this is a drill and tap in one device, I highly recommend drilling a pilot hole when working with anything other than sheet metal. Simply choose a drill bit that is about the same size or slightly smaller than the bit size of this drill bit and drill a hole with it. It helps to apply WD-40 or cutting fluid to the drill before each use. The base of the tool fits snugly onto my drill press's 1/4" hex adapter. Keep the drill bit lined up properly and don't over-tighten. Tap finish. Good: 1/4" quick release socket, tap with a portable power drill , thread fits well, excellent quality. Bad: I can't think of anything.
