This vacuum is very well built, more like a commercial grade vacuum, definitely more powerful and durable than your regular Hoover or Eureka and is great value for money. I would just like to note that the lift off part is not quite what I expected, I have had a bissel lift before and the device was very light and easy to move, this part of the lift makes up about 75 percent of the whole Vacuum off and on top is large and heavy, when it is detached from the base you need to be in good shape to handle the lifting part on the stairs as you will need to use two hands to keep your balance and the device while to compensate for the movement. I believe they make a lighter version of this lift that will probably be a better fit for most people. Using the attachments is less ergonomic in my opinion, the handle you hold on to has a built in angle that isn't always comfortable and there is no attachment extender, the attachments hook right onto the corner piece and a straight 18" extension on. it would be ideal, but so far I can't find such an option. It is great for regular carpet cleaning and is easy to move with the pivoting nozzle. I don't use it on hard floors so I won't comment on that. It's very durable and sucks better than any previous vacuum I've had, just a little quirky about the lift and attachments.
