I love California's Central Coast and we actually got some nuthatches just after putting on this top dressing. The feeding spot is next to the birch where there are plenty of places to pound nuts to peck them. We have a dual chamber copper feeder with a large metal mesh for this feeder and a smaller mesh for fine feed. Another food we use along with this one is Wagner's Southwest Regional Mix. Together they attract every bird in the area. There is now a constant stream of birds in the yard which attracts around 7 species.
