Birds and squirrels are going crazy!

As I write this on Earth Day, I'm watching our feathered friends and furry friends enjoying their new food. Yesterday our family watched a great woodpecker try to jump on a seed hoop. He made it on the second try, spinning around like a kid at a carnival. Now we have three crows and squirrels competing for corn. In this time of crisis, sitting at home and looking out the window is relaxing entertainment for all of us. We also bought the Backyard mix and he's a one too.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • unreliable

Chickadee Approved best in Birds

I bought this bird seed to feed my tits during the winter months. It's a long and cold winter in the California Sierras and the tits are so hungry they fly in your face and if you stretch out your hand they land on your hand and are in dire need of food. Before I bought seeds for the birds, I gave them sunflower seeds and made my own lard. They seem to enjoy it and choose their favourites. The black seeds come last. I chase away the great thrushes (?) because they are greedy and bully the tits.

Pros
  • Outstanding Overall
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

It attracts birds on the label. Big!

I love California's Central Coast and we actually got some nuthatches just after putting on this top dressing. The feeding spot is next to the birch where there are plenty of places to pound nuts to peck them. We have a dual chamber copper feeder with a large metal mesh for this feeder and a smaller mesh for fine feed. Another food we use along with this one is Wagner's Southwest Regional Mix. Together they attract every bird in the area. There is now a constant stream of birds in the yard…

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Almost never

Attractive for many bird species

I haven't been an "ornithologist" for long. Or rather, I had a winter break and wanted to see what kind of birds are in my area. Birds love it very much and it has brought a lot of birds into my garden, not to mention a neighbor cat or two that I didn't know before. We only have one woodpecker visiting us but the diet change resulted in some birds I wasn't aware were in our neighborhood and now I've been able to match some of the calls to the correct bird. Much more interesting than daytime…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • A few beetles

This is a REAL brand, not filled with millet seeds.

this is a REAL wild joy. I used to buy from a local store but they have been discontinued. I loved it and was so disappointed. But then it showed up in some garden centers and I bought it a few times but thought the product had changed. First, the price was lower, around $12.99, but the REAL difference was what was inside. There were about 1/3 of the millet seeds, and the morning pigeons occupied the millet feeders. I was too lazy to shop, I went to Revain and found it so I just ordered from…

Pros
  • a good thing
Cons
  • everything is great

Attention - some birdhouses are jammed!

This is a high quality birdseed rich in various nuts and fruits. I've never had a problem with moths or bugs and it definitely attracts a variety of woodpeckers. My main complaint is that it's so full of nuts that it clogs up both of my bird feeders (including my superfood-I-can't-believe-I-paid-$80-for-a-protein-protected-bird-feeder). I have previously used this feed at another house where I could easily spread the seeds on my deck. Now I'm in a home where this attracts huge flocks of grakles

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Modern
