I bought this based on advice I had gathered about quiet and reliable home theater DVD players. The price really tickled my inner tightrope. She totally suits me. It's very quiet and easily reads chipped, scratched Netflix DVDs. I haven't had any fit/finish issues as others have described. It looked fine and all the screws lined up and worked. I haven't burned anything with it and probably never will unless I add another drive to the device, so I can't comment on how well it works. Quiet drive for playing DVDs, works perfectly.
